The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C5390DW is an A4 colour office printer with print-only hardware. It has no scanner, copier, fax, or automatic document feeder. Printing relies on a PrecisionCore printhead with 800 black nozzles and 800 nozzles for each colour. DURABrite Ultra pigment ink runs through black, cyan, yellow, and magenta cartridges. A 6.1 cm colour panel manages local operation from the front panel.

Maximum print resolution reaches 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, with 3.8 pl droplets from variable-sized droplet technology. ISO print speed runs at 25 pages per minute in monochrome and colour. Duplex ISO output reaches 16 A4 pages per minute in both modes. Draft speed rises to 34 pages per minute on 75 g/m² plain paper. First-page output takes about 4.8 seconds in mono and 5.3 seconds in colour.

Paper handling combines a 250-sheet tray with an 80-sheet multi-purpose tray, giving 330 sheets as standard capacity. With three optional 500-sheet trays fitted, maximum input rises to 1,830 sheets.
