Epson WorkForce WF-2851 Specifications
The Epson WorkForce WF-2851 is an A4 colour inkjet all-in-one with print, scan, copy, fax, and 30-page automatic document feeder hardware. Its print mechanism uses on-demand piezoelectric inkjet technology. The printhead carries 180 black nozzles and 59 nozzles for each cyan, magenta, and yellow channel. Epson 212-series cartridges supply the four inks. A compact LCD and button keypad sit on the front panel for direct control.
Print resolution reaches 5760 x 1440 dpi, and the ink droplets can be as small as 3 pl. Draft A4 text runs up to 33 ppm in black and 18 ppm in colour. Under ISO measurement, speed drops to 10 ipm for black and 4 ipm for colour. The first page takes about 10 seconds in black or 18 seconds in colour. Automatic two-sided printing works on A4 paper. A 4 x 6-inch photo takes about 69 seconds.
The scanner uses an A4 flatbed with a CIS sensor and 1200 dpi optical resolution. Copies can come from the flatbed glass or through the automatic document feeder. Fax operation adds 33.6 kbps transmission, 100 speed-dial entries, and storage for up to 100 pages. Paper enters through the rear tray. That tray holds 100 sheets of A4 plain paper, and it also takes photo paper, envelopes, and borderless photo stock.
A computer connection runs through Hi-Speed USB. Wireless printing uses Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi Direct, since this model has no Ethernet port. Epson Connect links the printer with Epson iPrint, Email Print, Apple AirPrint, Scan to Cloud, and Remote Print Driver. With the feeder and stacker closed, the body measures 375 x 300 x 218 mm. The unit weighs 5.2 kg without cartridges or the power cord. In ready mode, power use is about 4.6 watts.
