Epson Expression Premium XP-821 Specifications

Epson Expression Premium XP-821 is an A4 colour inkjet all-in-one for printing, scanning, copying, faxing, photo output, and disc printing. Its five-colour system keeps pigment black separate from dye black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. The printhead carries 360 nozzles for pigment black, with 180 nozzles for each other channel. A 4.3-inch TFT colour LCD touchscreen controls the panel, while scanning relies on a CIS sensor.

Maximum print resolution reaches 5,760 x 1,440 dpi, with 1.5 pl smallest droplet size. Automatic duplex printing is built in, so two-sided output runs without hand turning. Economy-mode A4 text runs at about 32 ppm in black or colour. A 6-inch 4R borderless photo takes about 12 seconds in economy mode. The CIS scanner records up to 4,800 x 4,800 dpi across a 216 x 297 mm scan area.

Paper input comes through two front cassettes and a rear slot. Cassette 1 holds 100 sheets of A4 plain paper, while cassette 2 takes 20 sheets of photo paper. The rear feed accepts one sheet up to 0.6 mm thick. Printed pages collect in a 50-sheet plain-paper output area, or in a 20-sheet photo-paper stack. Accepted sizes include A4, A5, A6, B5, Letter, Legal, photo sizes, and #10, DL, or C6 envelopes.

A wired setup can use high-speed USB 2.0 or 10/100 Ethernet, while wireless networking runs through Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. The SD slot reads SD, SDHC, SDXC, and adapter-based mini or micro cards, with JPEG and PDF file support. Closed dimensions are 390 x 339 x 191 mm; when open, the body reaches 438 x 598 x 207 mm and weighs 8.3 kg without cartridges or power cable.
