Epson L8180 Specifications

The Epson L8180 is a prime example of how today’s printer technology has evolved. It combines the company’s innovative EcoTank system with professional-grade printing capabilities. The L8180 is eco-conscious, but you’ll spot considerable cost savings per page versus conventional ink cartridges. The four included ink bottles are said to provide up to 2,300 high-quality photos, which means this printer is designed with heavy-duty users in mind.

There’s more to the L8180 than simply a fresh coat of paint, as things get dire regarding print quality. The six-color Claria ET Premium ink set delivers an astonishing range and depth of color that’s nothing short of jaw-dropping. Maximum resolution is 5760 x 1440 dpi, with this attention to quality ensuring that every print — a vivid photograph or a crisp document — is reproduced with stunning definition. Apart from this, support for a host of paper types and sizes is apparent, ensuring that the printer is more than capable of keeping up with the creative appetites of photographers and designers everywhere. To further sweeten the deal, automatic duplex printing and a simple, innovative interface make the L8180 at least as easy to use as it is professional in its output.

However, these features come with a higher initial cost for the L8180, which can be a steep barrier to entry for those on a tighter budget. And while the ink-tank printer’s speeds are pretty respectable for quality prints — 16 ppm while printing in black and white and up to 12 ppm while using color — they may not be up to snuff for a bustling business environment that demands lightning-fast paces (like the ones Epson is capable of with its WorkForce lines). However, for the consumer who prizes print quality higher than speed, the L8180 speaks volumes for itself. Whether that’s measured in its shelf life or its meager running costs, the Epson L8180 is an excellent package for anyone needing a reliable investment for the long haul or an eco-friendly printing solution.
