Epson DS-870 Specifications
Epson DS-870 is a high-speed scanner that meets the document management needs of businesses that require stable scanning capabilities. This machine speeds up to 65 pages per minute, making it ideal for schools that want to conserve paper and ink on every page. The scanner supports uninterrupted workflows with a 100-page Automatic Document Feeder (ADF). It is an excellent option for offices that need to do heavy scanning daily if these things sound like what they do.
One aspect where the DS-870 may lose connectivity points is in wireless communication, unlike models such as the DS-790WN. What can you say, like saying “However?” It doesn’t have wireless features; instead, it only offers a USB connection. That limits its position in an office; it must physically connect. Not having Ethernet or Wi-Fi could be a significant drawback for companies that value network scanning and want more ways to stay connected. High-speed scanning, however, remains its mainstay feature; high-quality scanning has advanced paper handling capabilities and good image adjustment qualities.
Epson’s DS-870 is in the midrange when it comes to cost. It’s the upper part of that segment, the sales area. Great speed and sturdy construction support the price tag. Still, the investment is only worthwhile if the scanning speed and volume requirements match the characteristics of this machine (and therefore justify its added cost). This model may be too much for small businesses or home office workers, who could use a lower-priced item. In large companies able to truly leverage all their capabilities–including faster processing of documents, the DS-870 would be helpful for a more prominent company. Whether or not businesses are like this, they must examine their present and future document processing demands before buying a DS-870.
