Epson GT-2500 Specifications
Epson GT-2500 is your robust, flatbed scanner specifically available for small to midsize companies planning to streamline their file processing. It comprises a 1200 dpi optical resolution to capture the finer details of the document. Its capability to churn via bulk scanning sets off the GT-2500 from the contest. The built-in 50-page Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) eliminates piles of newspaper — turning them into electronic records at speeds around 27 pages per minute (ppm) in monochrome and 11 ppm in color at 300 dpi. Indeed, you won’t find the high specification from the E P-30 network or even the wireless capacities found at the WorkForce645. However, the scanner’s highspeed USB 2.0 connection offers a trusted, highspeed port to a personal computer.
Epson designed the GT-2500 with ease of use in mind. Although the scanning software is a tad out-of-date, it is easy to use, allowing for easy navigation even for scanning newbies. One of the most notable things about the GT-2500 is the build. This thing feels robust, so we’d expect it to offer an extremely long service life. Still, the GT-2500 lacks a dedicated duplex mechanism, meaning that the duplex process takes quite a bit longer than one without it due to needing to flip the paper manually.
Having said this, the GT-2500 is a device of its time; if you’re scanning in a wireless world, its lack of a wireless connection might be a showstopper. You can’t scan to mobile devices or cloud services on this hardware, which could prompt scoffs from professionals used to seeing virtually everything made for the cloud these days. Also, if you’re a dedicated Mac user, the absence of a Mac driver will rule this machine out.
Still, it’s ultimately a workhorse for an office where high-quality scans made quickly and reliably are more important than the latest features. It’s proof that sometimes you’d rather have a machine that’s bulletproof and no-nonsense if you’re moving vast quantities of paper daily.
