Epson Expression Premium XP-810 Specifications
Modeled after a ‘Small-in-One,’ the Epson Expression Premium XP-810 slots many features into a modest frame with a glossy finish—our review unit was a deep, coffee black. The subdued luster of the XP-810’s façade is a design plus, and the XP-810 also means to be a space-saver. Though it might be a bit hefty for a home printer at 21.5 inches deep, 15.4 inches wide, and 5.4 inches tall, the XP-810 manages to approximate the compactness of a small printer you’d want in a tight workspace; the main paper tray and the photo tray can slide back, and the control panel—with its 3.5-inch color touchscreen—can lie flush against the unit. The result is a printer that looks good is easy to use and fits wherever you might need to set it as an ideal combo for the home.
The Expression’s 3.5-inch color touchscreen is the device’s overwhelming feature, with gesture navigation that makes toggling between printing and scanning and between scanning and copying a series of easy swipes and taps, respectively. It offers a robust set of features that enables users to turn out photo-lab-quality prints, including duplex (two-sided) photo-quality printing on glossy and matte-surface paper stocks and copying. But the Epson small-in-one also is a full-featured unit: a letter-size flatbed for both printing and scanning; a rear-feed tray for handling specialty paper like cardstock or a #10 envelope; and, less typical, a 30-page auto document feeder, and, yes, nearly any fax option you can think of.
In addition, the Epson small-in-one is a printer with many ways to connect: through Wi-Fi Direct for any wireless mobile device without a network, through the Epson small-in-one’s suite of Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print, and its own Epson Connect feature for printing from an email address or a host of mobile devices.
