Epson Expression Premium XP-635 Specifications
The crowded marketplace for mid-range all-in-one printers is quite competitive. So it’s to Epson’s credit that the Epson Expression Premium XP-635 – aimed at home users who are more interested in high-quality photo printing and flexible features – still stands out from the pack.
Printing photos like it’s going out of fashion, the XP-635 boasts a solid five-cartridge system that uses Epson’s Claria Premium Ink. This helps deliver particularly vibrant photo printing, where the colors are bright, the blacks are deep, and the text is crisp. But, better still, it’s more than just the standard document printing that the XP-635 is superior at.
When considered in terms of usability, the XP-635 claims a user-friendly interface, thanks to a “5.6cm smart-navigation touch-panel” that eliminates the need for a PC to scroll through its features. A nod to modernity, the XP-635’s 2.7-inch color LCD also serves as a preview panel for those eager to see a miniature version of their creations and how to execute the various functions. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, and compatibility with Epson Connect tools such as Email Print, Epson iPrint, and the Creative Print app. As for fans of iOS and Android platforms, the XP-635 comes complete with support for AirPrint and Google Cloud Print to enhance smartphone and tablet use.
The XP-635 has its downsides. Running costs can be high, thanks to the ink cartridges’ relatively small capacity, which we’ve come to expect from an inkjet printer, mainly if you use it frequently for photo prints. It’s also not the fastest model on the market, so if you’re looking for something up to A3 or high-volume work, you’ll obviously want to look elsewhere. If, however, you’re after quality and flexibility without paying over the odds, then the Epson Expression Premium XP-635 is an excellent buy capable of handling most of your home printing needs.
